CONCOURS CLASSES AND NOTES

PDF Info Doc

These guidelines are being formulated to promote enthusiasm and encourage participation by all members of the club. They apply to all scheduled Concours events for 2011.

Only Chicago Region members will be eligible for Regional Points and Year End Points/Trophies.

  1. At the first Concours entered, the entrant will be the sole judge of the Class to which his/her car belongs on the basis of preparation.
  2. A Class must be declared at registration.
  3. Entrants of the same car in subsequent 2011 Concours events must remain in the same class originally entered, or they may elect to move up a Class. Entrants may not regress to a lower Class.
  4. Once judging begins, no additional cars may be added to a Class.
    1. Once judging begins, all cleaning and dusting must conclude.
    2. Once the cars are placed for judging, all vehicles must have parking brake engaged and ignition keys removed from the vehicle,
    3. Entrants must be with the vehicle for judging. Judges will not open compartments or remove items for judging.  The entrant is responsible for presenting the vehicle for judging.
  5. One car shall make a Class.
  6. No bonus points will be awarded for authenticity/originality, and no penalty imposed for the lack thereof. Judging shall be based solely on the cleanliness and condition of the car.
  7. Cars will be shown as delivered from the Porsche factory. All cars must possess a Porsche VIN number. Removable protective bras, seat covers and after-market floor mats must be removed prior to judging. Convertible tops must be fully raised. I-Pass Transponders may remain in the vehicle. • NOTE: Concours participants may elect to enter an additional or different car throughout the year. Points earned are the sum of an individual car, not the combination of more than one car. Points earned do not necessarily earn trophies!
  11. In addition to the point system specified in the PCA Chicago Region scoring sheets, summarized below, the     following points will be assigned for mileage as shown:  Mileage points will be awarded in the Touring and Show and Exhibition classes only as shown with a maximum of 5 points allowed:

      10,000 - 20,000 Miles = 0.5 points

  12. A majority of First Place awards in any class by any one car/entrant during one Concours season shall result in that entrant’s promotion to the next higher Concours Class for the next season.
  13. At the discretion of the event chairperson, the following awards/trophies and classes may be added to any Concours event:
    1. The “People’s Choice” trophy shall be awarded solely on the basis of the popular numerical votes cast by entrants. All those participants in attendance are eligible to vote and are allowed one ballot.
    2. The “Judge’s Choice” trophy shall be awarded solely on the basis of the popular numerical votes cast by the Concours judges of all classes. Their vote may be based solely on the subjective appeal of the cars and may not necessarily reflect the relative standing of any entrant in any of the respective classes.

NOTE: In the interest of fairness, no one car will be eligible to win both the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice trophies. Either award does not in any way influence the Year End Points/Trophies.
