The 2018 Track Season is about to begin and it’s important to make sure that both the car and driver’s equipment are all up to the job. This Tech Session will feature a discussion of the following:

  •  Items to have checked on your Porsche before the driving season starts.
  • Preview new products for 2018 from Alpinestars, Arai, Bell, Cobra, OMP, Pyrotect, Pagid, Recaro, Schroth, Sparco and Stilo.
  • Review of the Tech Form and a Presentation by the World Famous Tech Team Players.

Porsche Club of America-Chicago Region is hosting this unique Schedule opportunity to learn the fundamental skills necessary for Precision Care Control from our talented members and instructors. Fundamentals include extreme braking, importance of vehicle balance, fastest and safest line through a turn and many other skills that directly transfer to daily driving, Autocross, high speed Driver’s Education and even racing! Experience what it looks and feels like to REALLY control your Porsche in a safe, controlled environment. Who should attend? Anyone wanting to improve their driving skills, has a need for speed, or wishes to understand and experience the capability of their vehicle in a safe, closed-course environment. This is also great for folks who plan to participate in other extreme car control, Autocross or Driver’s Education events.

Precision Car Control also known as “Autocross” is an inexpensive opportunity to enthusiastically drive your Porsche, in a controlled, and safe environment. Drivers navigate through a predefined course outlined with road cones.

You will test and improve your driving skills while experiencing the impressive handling performance of your car.

The Road America Drivers' Education “RADE” event is a driver school put on each spring by the Chicago Region Porsche Club with an emphasis on safety. Held in Elkhart Lake, WI at Road America, one of the premier racetracks in the world. This program has been developed over many years to teach you the skills you need to drive your Porsche at its limits in a safe and secure environment. 

New this year: We have offered a limited number of spots to Badger BMW members. Those with previous Road America experience along with their BMW’s will be allowed to participate. 

This event is held over Memorial Day weekend and you must pass technical inspection (SUV’s, Cayennes or Macans are not allowed), and to drivers age 18 and older with an emphasis on the novice driver. Starting Thursday night, May 24th with a novice driver meeting, and ending Sunday, May 27th, RADE leaves Memorial Day open to celebrate with friends and family. 

Pre-registration is required for this event, as on-site registrations will not be accepted. Novice drivers, who have never been on a road course, are strongly encouraged to attend the Autocross Precision Car Control Clinic, as well as, Novice Drivers School at Blackhawk Farms Raceway.

  • Drive to the Courthouse Pub for lunch in Manitowoc, WI
